Coastal Ridge at Cabo de la Vela, La Guijira region, Colombia - March 2015
March 24, 2015 -- Every place I have visited thus far during my now five month in northern South America has had its charm, its attraction. But there was something about my time in Cabo de la Vela, in the La Guajira region of absolute northern Colombia, that made that coastal desert stick with me the most. Maybe it is because it was my most recent, and last, travel experience, now that I have settled into Quito. Maybe it was the many variations of that "living on the edge" thing that Cabo represents, and I tend to enjoy. Whatever it was, I'd go back in a heartbeat. The place was extremely hot, the people pleasantly warm, the experience very cool. Here's some photos from my midday walk hiking up to, and then along, the ridgeline about the ocean.
