Hiking the Levena Coast Trail (October 2, 2004)
During my two days in the Levena area, I had some wonderful interactions with the villagers of Levena village.
On my first day there, I took the "Levena coastal walk." This is another part of the Bouma Park, at the end of the road. So as much Fijian wilderness as one can get. And oh what a green place it is. About an hour and a half of walking the coast (on or just next to the beach or volcanic coastline), and then a half hour up to the falls (where one has to swim about 100 yards to get to the big pool that the two falls there have carved out of the volcanic rock that lingers under the dense forest.
