February 12, 2017 -- Swainson's hawk grabs an afternoon snack last Sunday along Steamer Lane, on West Cliff Drive, Santa Cruz, CA. I happen to be driving by Steamer Lane, when I saw a hawk on a light post amidst the sea of weekend goers along West Cliff. Thought I could get a good close up of the bird. Turned out to be more... including catching the moment of capture in the grass. My good fortune.
