September 6, 2016 -- After finishing the four night backpacking trip out of Rock Creek with my buddies (see gallery here), I took a three night solo trip from the back side of Mammoth Mountain to Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite NP. These photos are from the first day, finding my way to NyDiver Lakes.

Looking back south toward Mammoth Mountain, where whence I'd come.
My hike started along the left hand side of this photo, taken from my window seat on United Flight 492, September 25th. I then turned left (right in this photo), and headed east into the further drainage of the three lower in this photo (see next photo for more details.
What a treat it was to see my route from my window seat on United Flight 492 a short 2+ weeks later. On Day One, I crossed the valley in the lower left, and headed up the drainage about two-thirds of the way on the left of this photo (the one with the distinctive notch, and only a smaller lake, in it).
